Deputy Nursery Manager

Overview

Our client provides early years education for children aged 0-5 in spacious, well-equipped rooms, with a large garden used for regular outdoor learning and play. You will work closely with the Nursery Manager to maintain standards, oversee staff practice, and ensure compliance across the provision.

• Support the Nursery Manager with daily operations and staff oversight
• Lead rooms as required, ensuring ratios and EYFS standards are met
• Monitor quality of teaching, learning and care across age groups
• Supervise, coach and guide practitioners and room leaders
• Maintain safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory compliance
• Build professional relationships with parents and external agencies

• Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or above)
• Proven experience in a Deputy Nursery Manager, Third in Charge, or Senior role within a nursery
• Strong working knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding requirements
• Experience supporting staff supervision and performance management
• Confidence managing the nursery in the Manager's absence
