We have a BRILLIANT opportunity for a Children's Support Worker to join a FANTASTIC 3-bed residential children’s home in Gloucester. You’ll be supporting young people between the ages of 5-18 years old with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.
We are looking for PASSIONATE, COMMITTED, and MOTIVATED individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of young people; to enable them to develop socially, emotionally and behaviourally in a setting where they feel safe and cared for.
Job Title: Children's Support Worker Salary: £31,000 – £35,000 (Inclusive of sleeps)
Location: Gloucester (GL4 postcode)
Contract: Permanent Hours: 40 hours per week Shift pattern: 3-week rolling rotation
Due to the nature of the job we will only accept candidates who hold a Full UK Driving Licence

- To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
- To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
- To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Provide support for the children and young people in the home and to promote their independence and well‑being.
- Maintain a safe environment for young people.
- Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an up‑to‑date knowledge of the individual’s care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
- Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals involved in the young people’s lives such as Psychologists.
- Experience as a Children's Support Worker, or with Young People is desirable but not essential.
- Experience with in another healthcare or social care setting is desirable but not essential.
- You must be a car driver as you will be required to transport young people from time to time.
- You must be over the age of 22.
- You must be able to commute to Gloucester.
