We are looking for a Housekeeper to maintain a safe, clean and relaxing environment for patients in our in‑patient units. The role is part of the Facilities Team delivering Porter, Cleaning, Catering and Linen services from 8.00 am – 6.30 pm, seven days a week.

• Ensure cleanliness of the environment in accordance with the National Specification of Cleanliness 2007 or equivalent and the NHS Cleaning Manual.
• Clean all areas of the site using methods such as high dusting, damp dusting, vacuuming and mopping.
• Maintain and replenish consumable stocks (paper hand towels, soap, etc.) safely.
• Adhere to infection control procedures and use colour‑coded equipment to prevent the spread of infection.
• Report cleaned areas, highlight issues and flag any obstructions to the Facilities Supervisor.
• Undertake enhanced cleaning duties under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor.
• Distribute and store linen safely and in accordance with the curtain change programme.
• Assist with removal of used linen and follow the rejected linen process.
• Receive chilled/frozen meals, check quality and quantity, sign goods received and report any discrepancies.
• Prepare and plate meals under nursing supervision, ensuring correct portioning and presentation.
• Maintain temperature control records for food hygiene compliance and HACCP requirements.
• Record and monitor food wastage and report discrepancies.
• Clean all food‑preparation equipment and facilities used during service.
• Prepare, serve and clear inpatient beverage service, replenish water jugs as scheduled.

• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
• NVQ Level 1 in Cleaning & Support Services or equivalent qualification or experience.
• GCSEs or equivalent.
• Good literacy skills.
• Previous experience of cleaning and catering duties within a similar working environment.
• Basic understanding of cleaning and catering procedures.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety.
• Understanding of safe manual handling techniques.

• NVQ Level 2 in Hospitality & Catering or equivalent.
• Previous experience working within the NHS.
• Previous experience working in a mental health environment.
• Knowledge of COSHH – training will be provided.
