The Role As a Dual Fuel Engineer with Orion, you’ll enjoy a stable, full-time position with excellent pay, bonuses, and benefits.
You will:
• Install smart meters safely and efficiently in domestic properties
• Deliver a professional, customer-focused service on every visit
• Ensure all work meets industry safety and compliance standards
• Represent Orion proudly as part of a nationwide engineering team
Pay & Package Options Choose the option that best fits your circumstances:
1. Salary Package
• £45,000 per annum
• 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)
• Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided
2. Umbrella Day Rate – Option 1
• £200 per day
• Paid via Umbrella PAYE
• Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided
3. Umbrella Day Rate – Option 2
• £275 per day
• Paid via Umbrella PAYE
• Engineer provides own van & fuel
• Tools & uniform provided
Working Hours
• Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm (1-hour lunch)
• Minimum of 4 jobs per day / 20 per week
• Optional weekend work available once weekly targets are met
Bonus Breakdown
KPI Bonus – £150 per month
• Achieved by hitting 75% completion of your jobs in a calendar month
Attendance Bonus – £150 per month
• Awarded for full attendance and no sick days in a calendar month (pro-rated for holiday taken)
Call Out
• Call out 1 week in 4
• Standby payments Monday–Sunday
• Price per job: £150 per dual, £80 per single, £50 per transactional job
• Saturday work available (paid at day rate)
Requirements
• Diploma or qualification in Smart Meter Engineering
• MOCOPA certification (completed on induction if not already held)
• CMA1 certificate or CCN1 & MET1
• Valid driving licence
• Clean DBS check (recent certificate within 3 months preferred)
• EUSR card (advantageous but not essential)
Documents required:
Driving licence, passport, gas certificates, MOCOPA, qualification/diploma, NI number, references, and DBS
