Location:
Bishops Cleeve
Hours:
Monday–Friday, 6:00am–4:30pm, plus alternate Saturdays 6:00am–11:30am. Average 47.75 hours per week over a two-week period, with a slightly later shift included.

Are you an experienced HGV Technician looking for your next opportunity?
We are currently recruiting for a skilled and motivated HGV Technician to join an established and professional workshop based in Bishops Cleeve.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy team where you will play an important role in maintaining a commercial vehicle fleet, ensuring vehicles are safe, reliable and available for operation.
The Role
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out high-quality servicing, maintenance and repairs across a range of HGVs and commercial vehicles.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out inspections, servicing and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
* Completing warranty work where required.
* Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults.
* Preparing vehicles for annual MOT testing.
* Identifying and accurately reporting vehicle defects.
* Completing service documentation and job records accurately.
* Following all company health & safety procedures, risk assessments and Safe Operating Procedures.
* Maintaining a clean, safe and professional workshop environment.
* Supporting and mentoring apprentice technicians.
* Providing roadside assistance when required and safe to do so.
* Keeping technical knowledge and qualifications up to date through ongoing training.
* Working flexibly to support operational requirements, including occasional cover at other sites.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
* City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3, NVQ Level 3 or an equivalent qualification in HGV maintenance.
* Alternatively, 10+ years' relevant HGV maintenance experience will be considered.
* A valid HGV licence, ideally minimum Class 2.
* A valid digital tachograph card and Driver CPC.
* Good knowledge of tachograph systems.
* Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
* Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
* A strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.
* The ability to work efficiently and complete repairs to a high standard.
* Good communication skills and a professional approach.
* The ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team.
* A practical, proactive approach to problem-solving.
