DescriptionGENERAL
SUMMARY:
Responsible for supervising active treatment at all times when residents are in the cottage by ensuring that DSP follows all procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Arrange if needed & ensure adequate transportation of residents on and off grounds.
Supervise active treatment at all times when residents are in the cottage by ensuring that DSP follows the ISP and schedules.
Organize meal time, supervise family style dining, direct meal service in coordination with dietary servers.
Check 100% of the residents as they leave the cottage for a clean, neat and appropriate appearance.
Arrange for shift coverage by reassigning, pulling or mandatory staff, when DSP calls off or does not show for the next shift. Maintain minimum cottage staffing numbers.
Initial time sheets for DSP starting the next shift and for DSP ending the previous shift when necessary. Assist and retrain on time clock issues as needed.
Coordinate emergency drills, complete the necessary report and give it to maintenance by the end of the shift. Ensure client safety in event of time of emergency. Ensure 911 has been notified in an emergency.
Ensure cleanliness and safety within the cottage, by assisting, directing and monitoring the workforce. Complete QA of job assignment to staff.
Upon arrival to the cottage, review the Communication Log, complete and sign the "walk-through" with the off going supervisor. When leaving duty, complete documentation in the Communication Log, complete and sign the "walk-through" with the on-coming supervisor. Complete all staff assignments including duties, meals, breaks, activities, doctor appointments, etc.
Assist with training current and new staff.
Oversee, compliance with the code of conduct. Issue verbal consultations, retraining, discipline and/or directive to clock out and leave as indicated. Notify HR, AOD, or QIDP for assistance if needed. Reassign staff as needed to minimize conflicts.
Monitor shift documentation and resident changes. Notify nursing and/or QIDP of concerns or changes. Direct staff as needed to complete documentation duties. (paper and/or computer input)

Education/
Experience:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Must verify at least an 8th grade education and reading comprehension. Good physical health and lifting abilities. Experience preferred, but not necessary. Successful completion of Pre-Employment/On the Job Training Program and competency tests.
