Asbury Village is recruiting for a hospitality focused HVAC Technician to join our team!
Job Summary:
The primary function of the HVAC Technician is to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems throughout the Village. The Technician must have a broad range of HVAC skills and knowledge to address a variety of mechanical issues that arise, including preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and equipment replacement. The Technician will also assist with general maintenance duties as needed, including basic electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs associated with HVAC systems and building operations.
This position requires strong mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge of commercial and residential HVAC equipment.
Technicians also assist with snow removal as needed and various special assignments/activities associated with Village events and promotions (table and equipment set-up, putting up holiday banners, holiday decorating, etc.).
The HVAC Technician position requires flexibility on an On-Call basis to meet emergency needs that may occur outside regular hours. The Technician will have a means of contact (home telephone or Village-provided communication device) when On Call. The Technician will work in areas occupied by residents, staff, and guests.
Essential Functions:
* Able to read and write and follow detailed directions.
* Demonstrate independent judgment, common sense, and critical thinking.
* Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Able to handle multiple task assignments.
* Ability to inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial and residential HVAC equipment.
* Perform preventive maintenance on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related mechanical systems.
* Diagnose HVAC system malfunctions and determine appropriate corrective action.
* Maintain boilers, furnaces, air handlers, condensers, rooftop units, exhaust systems, thermostats, and related equipment.
* Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, technical specifications, blueprints, and control diagrams.
* Knowledge of refrigerant handling, recovery, and EPA regulations.
* Knowledge and skill to use HVAC tools, testing equipment, and related maintenance equipment safely.
* Knowledge and compliance with general safety and OSHA rules to ensure staff safety.
* Ability to perform basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repairs associated with HVAC systems and building operations.
* Demonstrate professional and pleasant people skills that consistently display patience, courtesy, and respect for others.
* Ability to recognize unsafe conditions and take action to correct and/or prevent risk to others.
* Good physical and mental health is required.
Working Conditions:
Job responsibilities require heavy physical exertion, including continuous walking, standing, bending, reaching, climbing ladders, and pushing/pulling, as well as the frequent lifting and carrying of heavy (26 to 60 pounds) to very heavy (61 to 100 pounds) loads.
Job responsibilities may require frequent exposure to uncomfortable temperature levels, variable lighting, above-average noise levels, dust, mechanical equipment, and/or unpleasant/irritating substances. Exposure to hazardous and/or potentially injurious elements or conditions is moderate.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Technical training in HVAC systems preferred.
* Minimum two years of HVAC maintenance, installation, or repair experience required.
* Experience with commercial HVAC systems strongly preferred.
* Valid Driver's License
