PURPOSE/SCOPE:

  • Tennant Company is currently seeking a Facility Specialist in Minnesota.
  • The purpose of this position is to provide a centralized resource that enables operational and analytical efficiency to the Real Estate and Facilities team. This position will support multiple facilities and initiatives within Tennant’s real estate portfolio.
  • The successful candidate must be able to seamlessly balance multiple high-visibility priorities, time-sensitive demands and facility projects, while supporting the Real Estate and Facilities team to meet business critical objectives, project deadlines and achieve the goals of our annual operating plan.

GENERAL RESPONISIBILITIES:

  • Ensures successful day-to-day operations within the facilities supported by managing, coordinating and executing facility services (engineering, janitorial, security, cafeteria, landscaping, snow removal, life-safety, preventative/routine maintenance, etc.).
  • Lead, coordinate and execute large and complex real estate and facility projects and initiatives.
  • Provide financial oversight over a portion of Tennant’s real estate portfolio, including; accountability for multiple cost centers, planning/managing capital and expense budgets, leading the annual operating plan for sites supported, and driving cost reduction and cost avoidance strategies.
  • Develop strong partnerships and collaborate with key business unit stakeholders (Manufacturing Operations, Sales and Service, Enterprise Health and Safety, IT, Human Resources, etc,) to accomplish large scale projects and initiatives.
  • Develop subject matter expertise in business-critical systems (financial, operational, purchasing, work order systems, etc.) to help drive efficiency and capacity within the business unit.
  • Create facility management routines and processes; document processes into standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for domestic and global expansion.
  • Assist in the coordination and scheduling of project work, maintenance activities and special events.
  • Develop timing and action plans to ensure timely completion of priorities.
  • Provides onsite support of employees, guests and contractors for locations supported.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE &

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility operations, property management, or project management in a related function.
  • Advanced communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to communicate within multiple levels of the organization.
  • Experience in financial management; including cost center accountability, monthly/quarterly/annual budgeting and forecasting, short and long range capital planning, etc.
  • Excellent computer and systems knowledge; strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
