Overview
Notre École, a French Immersion STEAM charter school, seeks a qualified and passionate educator to teach elementary students as a long‑term substitute in a classroom setting at the beginning of the 2026‑2027 school year. The ideal teacher will create a flexible educational program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with students; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a solid foundation for education in accordance with each student’s ability;
and establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.

- Establish clear goals and objectives related to the School Improvement Plan;
- Plan and prepare lessons, assignments, instructional materials;
- Establish learning objectives consistent with appraisal of student needs, curriculum framework, and knowledge of human growth and development;
- Prepare, administer and correct evaluations and assessments, and record results;
- Select and use appropriate instructional strategies including, but not limited to, lectures, group discussions, demonstrations, modeling and multimedia teaching aids to present subject matter to students;
- Evaluate student progress using appropriate assessment techniques;
- Maintain order and discipline in the classroom conducive to effective learning and take all necessary safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities;
- Create a classroom environment that provides for student involvement in the learning process and enable each student to achieve learning objectives;
- Counsel pupils when academic and adjustment problems arise;
- Confer with parents and students regarding progress/problems of assigned students;
- Arrange and participate in teacher‑parent or teacher‑student conferences as necessary;
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law, Board Policy and Administrative Regulation;
- Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, textbooks, materials and facilities;
- Attend and actively participate in staff/faculty meetings and provide input regarding the planning of instruction goals, objectives and methods;
- Must be flexible and willing to help in different roles at the school to meet various school needs, including being part of different school committees;
- Improve skill and knowledge base in current trends, research and methodology in instructional techniques, technology, multi‑cultural content, problem solving and interdisciplinary connections;
- Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for paraprofessional educators, student teachers, and volunteers;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Current Minnesota Elementary licensure required or ability to obtain licensure;
- French fluency at a native or near‑native level;
- Ability to work with diverse populations;
- Knowledge of school organization, goals and objectives, curriculum, teaching techniques, current trends, research, and materials of instruction in field of specialization;
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the teaching and learning process; ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education;
- Ability to infuse technology into curriculum;
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, administrators, colleagues, community, and other school system staff;
- Excellent oral and communication skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 25 lbs.

Experience- Teaching: minimum 1 year (Preferred)
- Bachelor's or equivalent (Required)
- Elementary Education License (Preferred) or willingness to obtain a MN tier license.
