The Credit Analyst role supports Choice Bank’s commercial and agricultural lending areas by gathering, reviewing, and analyzing financial and credit information for prospective and existing borrowers. These positions contribute to evaluating credit quality, identifying and mitigating risk, and supporting sound loan structuring and lending decisions. Team members build expertise in Choice Bank’s credit culture, underwriting standards, and analytical processes while performing tasks that strengthen the overall credit function.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate the ability to independently underwrite relationships with total exposure ranging from $750,000 to $10,000,000, depending on experience.
- Read, review, and understand various financial statements including tax returns, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, aging reports, borrowing base certificates, debt schedules, equipment lists, business credit reports, credit bureau reports, rent rolls, lease agreements, cash flow statements, personal financial statements, environmental reports, and appraisals.
- Prepare credit memos for new and renewing loan requests, clearly communicating analysis through written summaries and supporting data (charts, formulas, graphs, etc.).
Responsibilities include: - Financial statement analysis: trends, ratios, margins, sensitivity, and pro forma.
- Cash flow analysis: traditional and UCA.
- Collateral analysis: BBCs, real estate and equipment appraisals, collateral audits, contracts, and purchase agreements.
- Guarantor analysis: cash flow, personal financial statements, and credit reports.
- Risk assessment: key risks, policy exceptions, and mitigating factors.
- Risk rating: grid completion and rationale commentary.
- Meet with and interview customers to develop a thorough understanding of the loan request and the business relationship.
- Complete annual reviews, problem loan reports, risk rating changes, and other file comments to preserve the credit integrity of the loan portfolio.
- Provide ongoing monitoring of borrowers’ financial indicator covenants for compliance with loan documents.
- Prepare various loan reports as directed by Credit Leadership.
- Develop knowledge of SBA loan products along with policy and procedures.
- Attend credit analysis training provided by Credit Manager as well as RMA or MBA classes.
- Demonstrate the desire to learn new skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1‑5+ years of experience as a Commercial Credit Analyst.
This position requires travel to support business needs, including team collaboration, internal trainings, and cross‑functional initiatives. The frequency and duration of travel will vary based on organizational priorities and team needs.

The base salary for this role is listed below. This pay range is posted to comply with wage transparency laws. The base salary may vary based on skill, ability, knowledge, experience, and geographic location. Full-time employees are also eligible for a competitive bonus and benefits package.
