Setup Operator - All Types of Presses - 1st Shift
Golden Valley, MN
Position Type:
Temp to Hire
Schedule:
1st Shift 4:00 AM–2:30 PM Monday–Thursday or 6:00 AM–2:30 PM Monday–Friday
Pay Rate: $33.32 /hr
- 1 year of experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting punch press equipment.
- Ability to understand and apply independent judgment with comparators, protractors, micrometers, scales, and furnished gauges.
- Preferred: 1 year experience with 150‑to‑400‑ton punch press equipment using progressive tooling.
- Continuous visual attention required during operation and sustained physical effort during setup.
- Exposed to noise, dirt, and oil.
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot all types of punch presses.
- Visually check parts for defects and dimensionally against blueprints and layouts.
- Set up and maintain auxiliary equipment such as straighteners and reels.
- Determine and perform necessary tooling, service, or repairs at run end.
- Install and adjust feeds, cams, tapping heads, speeds, and micro switches.
- Detect and resolve setup difficulties to produce quality parts.
- Adjust air, knockouts, and ejection settings to meet safety standards.
- Maintain machine processes and monitor for misfeeds or equipment malfunction.
- Keep work area neat and manage die storage and tool location records.
- Write repair orders and generate move orders as needed.
- Engage in the Manufacturing Operating System (MOS) activities (Safety, 5S, Kaizen, TPM, etc.).
- May be eligible for 5 paid holidays.
- May accrue up to 48 hours of paid sick time per year.
