** Engineering a world of possibilities
** The Critical Materials Innovation Hub (CMI) Research Center at Colorado School of Mines (Mines) is hiring for a part-time Research Hourly Staff employee. This position will be 15 hours per week for at least one year.
The Research Hourly Staff employee supports the activities of the CMI Deputy Director and the Education and the Workforce Development (EWD) Program Manager, as well as providing budget support for additional CMI researchers ponsibilities:
* Foster positive working relationships with colleagues at Ames National Lab
* CMI Winter Meeting:
Coordinate all aspects of the multi-day meeting for approximately 175 attendees and presenters. Planning begins in October and ends in mid-February.
* CMI monthly webinar series:
Schedule guests, set up the registration page, create introduction slides, provide technical support during the live events.
* Create travel authorizations and expense reports in Workday
* Assist with planning and logistics for various outreach events
* Participate in weekly EWD meetings
* Provide logistical support for the CMI internship program
* Support the purchasing activities of the EWD Program Manager for ongoing museum exhibit updates.
* Prepare and submit faculty and staff research contracts
* Hire and assist graduate and undergraduate student workers
* Prepare and review expense reports to assure research allowability and adherence to Mines policies and procedures
* Provide ad-hoc reports for the sponsor
* Update the website as needed
* Collaborate often with colleagues in the offices of Research Administration (ORA), Procurement, Graduate Studies (OGS), Human Resources, Mining, and Economics and Business
Minimum Qualifications:
* 3+ years administrative experience in creating expense reports, travel authorizations, updating budgets, and event planning
* Experience updating budget reports in Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel
* Experience with Workday HR and Finance Software
* Experience organizing large events
* Experience working in higher education
