About the Work Unit – The purpose of the Training Services Branch is to train members of the Colorado State Patrol. The CSP is designated by Colorado P.O.S.T. as an approved Basic Training Academy. In addition to the Academy cadet classes each year, this unit provides continuing education, specialized training, and advanced training to all members of the Colorado State Patrol.
Work Environment
- 100% in‑person, office, event and catering environment, typical work hours, Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
- May require standing, walking, lifting or carrying items related to event setup.
About the Opportunity – This position serves as the primary liaison and program coordination between the Academy kitchen vendor and the Academy catering and hospitality needs. The role includes coordinating catering needs for classroom or event set‑up, arranging the menu, overseeing food setup and event tear‑down, managing day‑to‑day operations of the CSP Academy classroom(s), liaising with food services vendors to ensure adequate and appropriate services, and facilitating repairs, upgrades and equipment management.
The position is the primary point of contact for Academy staff regarding classroom and meeting space configuration and needs.
Catering and Hospitality Coordination
This position manages classroom and event space for the Training Services Branch and the Camp George West complex. It ensures scheduled meeting space is set up as requested and assists in planning and executing assigned special events. The individual works collaboratively with TSB professional staff on room assignments, space configuration, and hospitality needs.
Vendor LiaisonThe primary vendor liaison for contracted food services. Responsible for contracts, monthly invoices, invoice discrepancies, direct vendor needs and concerns, as well as equipment repairs and preventive maintenance. Provides customer service support and resolves vendor‑related issues, delivering timely meal counts for classroom and other events.
Minimum QualificationsFour (4) years of customer service experience providing direct support to clients, guests, or stakeholders, including hospitality, catering, events, administrative support or related service functions; or a combination of related education and customer service experience totaling four (4) years. If education substitutes for work experience, an unofficial transcript of the relevant education must be provided with the application.
Preferred Qualifications- Prior state experience relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Experience in catering coordination, events, hospitality services or customer service in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience coordinating multiple vendors and service providers.
- Experience tracking inventory.
- Experience with Google products (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
