We anticipate the need for multiple positions at our Golden Service Center. The starting rate of pay for this position is $62.81 hourly.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the proper, safe, reliable, and cost‑efficient operation and protection of electric system power production and/or delivery.
  • Perform operational testing, maintenance, programming, calibration, commissioning, and functional analysis and evaluation on system protective relaying and system power control/monitoring equipment and devices.
  • Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with customers concerning assigned tasks coordination and schedules.
  • Establish and maintain customer rapport and strong working relationships.
  • Ensure that assigned tasks are completed in an effective, efficient manner, meeting schedule deadlines.
  • Customers include internal and external personnel, departments, organizations, and companies.
  • Analyze and solve problems utilizing sound decisions based on wisdom, judgment, and due diligence.
  • Work cohesively with and in partnership with other departments and assigned functional area personnel to meet department and functional area goals and objectives.
  • Continuously gain understanding and knowledge, staying abreast of new technologies and customer needs and expectations.

This position will involve protective relaying and area metering and telemetry equipment in an electric distribution and transmission substation environment, including commission installation, testing, maintenance, investigation, analysis, troubleshooting, and repair.

Required for success: self‑motivation, teamwork, positive attitude, ability to work in various weather conditions, at heights and in confined spaces, availability for after‑hours and weekend call‑outs, extensive travel, and physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED and the following criteria:
  • Associates Degree or other certification in Electronics Technology, Applied Electronic Engineering, or Associate in Electrical Engineering, or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operation, maintenance, and testing of system protective and/or system power control equipment.
  • Thorough working knowledge of computer usage, operating systems, and software applications for protective relaying and power control/monitoring equipment.
  • Availability for after‑hours scheduled and unscheduled work, emergency response, and callouts.
  • Willingness to travel out of town, use a company vehicle, and stay overnight when required.
  • Ability to travel in adverse weather conditions.
  • Physical capacity to lift, move, and carry equipment weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Adherence to corporate policies and procedures.

Selection criteria may include testing and/or assessment.
