Introduction:
The Ethos Way

Ethos is a growth-oriented company passionate about driving impact and finding solutions that create amazing outcomes for our customers, our employees, and Ethos. We call this “win-win-win”—relentlessly striving to live up to our core values of personal accountability and a solutions-oriented mindset.

Ethos has been steadily growing and diversifying our telecom business for more than a decade. While our foundation is carrier-related work, we are quickly building a full-suite Public Safety and Commercial DAS offering. We are seeking an experienced Applications Engineer who can help us accelerate our efforts by engaging in both commercial and technical roles.

Summary Responsibilities – DAS Applications Engineer

The DAS Applications Engineer is a hybrid technical and strategic role responsible for the lifecycle of our in-building wireless offerings. This role has three primary areas of responsibility:

  • Technical Architect: Successfully plan and manage the technical design phase for a portfolio of projects, ensuring both carrier-grade performance and life-safety compliance.
  • Relationship & Pipeline Developer: Build and maintain meaningful relationships with AHJs (Fire Marshals), Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), General Contractors (GCs), and Property Managers to create a sustainable project pipeline. Support the sales process by developing deep technical trust with customer decision-makers to help close complex commercial deals.
  • Strategic DAS SME (Subject Matter Expert): Contribute to Ethos’ strategy in the DAS/ERRCS space by identifying market needs, trends, and opportunities, developing staffing/tooling budgets, and building systematic internal capabilities.
Essential Duties RF Engineering and Technical Sales Support
  • Perform bid walks and evaluate site conditions to provide accurate, competitive, and profitable project scopes.
  • Lead the upfront engineering process for commercial and public safety systems, including comprehensive iBwave propagation modeling and heat map generation. Ensure technical compliance and feasibility of all systems.
  • Develop detailed quotes including complete Bill of Materials (BOM) that balances cost-effectiveness with high-tier performance.
  • Respond to customer RFPs, RFIs, and other requests for quotes with technical submittals designed to win.
Strategic Relationship Management
  • Actively develop and maintain strong relationships with Property Managers and Developers to identify early-stage commercial DAS opportunities.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with AHJs and Fire Marshals to ensure Ethos is seen and positioned as a preferred, compliant partner.
  • Coordinate with Equipment Manufacturers, OEMS, and strategic vendors to develop deep relationships and partnerships, stay ahead of technology changes and product roadmaps, obtain competitive pricing, and train the Ethos team on developments and build market-leading capabilities.
  • Leverage relationships with customers, AHJs, vendors, and others to identify opportunities pre-bid. Work with these relationships on development of bid documents and specifications that position Ethos for success.
  • Cross-sell and expand Ethos services within established accounts to maximize relationship value.
Strategy and Division Growth
  • Assist the Director of Telecom and other key DAS leaders in assessing division talent and identifying business requirements to scale the DAS offering.
  • Build a systematic capability for DAS/ERRCS within Ethos, including training programs for Crew Leads and Field Supervisors.
  • Prepare strategic budgets for tooling, Capex, and materials necessary to maintain a competitive edge in the Western US markets.
