An innovative space technology company developing advanced robotics and mobility systems for lunar and planetary exploration is seeking a Senior RF Engineer to join its growing engineering team. This role will support the design, integration, and testing of RF systems for space-based platforms, including satellites and planetary rovers, within a fast-paced and mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design, analyse, and integrate RF subsystems for space and communications platforms
- Perform electromagnetic simulations and RF trade studies to support system design decisions
- Develop and execute RF and antenna test plans, including VSWR, gain, and radiation pattern analysis
- Build, integrate, and test RF hardware and communications payloads
- Create and analyse link budgets for space-to-Earth communications systems
- Conduct antenna co-site and interference analysis
- Use industry-standard RF modelling and simulation tools to validate system performance
- Produce detailed technical documentation, reports, and test results
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and external vendors throughout development cycles
- Strong background in RF systems design, analysis, and testing
- Hands-on experience building and testing RF hardware and RF test racks
- Experience with RF test equipment including spectrum analysers, network analysers, signal generators, and power meters
- Ability to develop and execute RF validation and verification plans against technical requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of RF engineering experience
- Excellent technical communication and documentation skills
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in fast-paced environments
- Eligibility to work on U.S. regulated aerospace programmes
