Project Manager, IT Project Manager

The purpose of the Information Technology Project Management Office (PMO) is to provide collaboration and communication of IT related programs and projects. The PMO provides a service to the organization of leading programs and projects, providing communication, and enables prioritization and portfolio management.

This position is within our Information Technology Division and will serve as the lead of the PMO. The role will:

-Provide leadership, collaboration, supervision, training, guidance and support to all IT project team members on assigned projects.

-Review and monitor project plans to ensure they are consistent with the organization's project management methodology.

-Identify and appoint project managers to projects based on skills and resource load.

-Work with project managers to establish the goals, critical success factors and scope of each project.

-Compile/analyze project metrics.

-Review, develop, or enhance core PM processes and templates for: project portfolio management, project intake and assessment, communication, approval, status reports, etc.

-Review and monitor project plans to ensure they are consistent with the organization's project management methodology.

-Develop dashboards and tools to communicate the value, risks, and status of prospective and ongoing projects

-Provide regular status updates to Sr. Executives

-Ensure PM best practices are followed throughout the life-cycle of projects

The successful candidate must have experience in one of the following: creating a PMO from scratch; leading a PMO; or working on PMO core processes. PMP certification and management experience are required. The ability to discuss value and risks in business terms is also essential to this role. Candidate must live locally and interview in person. If successful, the County may extend the engagement and the candidate will be eligible for the full time PMO Manager position.
