Overview
Spyderco, an established, conservative, manufacturing company committed to making superior cutlery, we are looking for someone to join our Assembly department. Work Hours & CompensationMonday - Friday 7 am – 4 pm
Compensation: $19–20 /hr.
Essential Functions- Efficiently assemble products according to work order and procedure guide
- Conduct functional, safety and quality checks using appropriate procedures, tools, and/or control pieces
- Package and label completed projects
- Use required tools and fixtures to assemble product (electric drivers, hand drivers, tapping tools)
- Diagnose and report any ongoing product difficulties
- Understand and build knowledge based on product components and terminology
- Communicate written and verbal information effectively
- Adapt to process changes and improvements
- Apply constructive quality and process feedback
- Maintain a clean environment and 5S Standards
- Communicate effectively with Assembly Lead
- Perform repetitive motions, often requiring pinching and quick grasping
- Carry items, climb stairs, lift objects as necessary
- Work comfortably in a noisy environment
- Report to Lead and machine or equipment issues
- Inform Lead on supplies needed to complete the project
- Assist with process improvements and problem solving
- Communicate with Quality Assurance for first articles, if directed
- Assist other departments as assigned (tapping and finishing)
- 3 years or more Assembly Experience
- 3 years or more Hand Tools/Torque Drivers experience
- 3 years or more Working in a Production/Manufacturing Environment
- Quality oriented
- Excellent dexterity
- Mechanically inclined
- Ability to receive constant feedback
- Understand and apply techniques and processes (spine whack, side to side, vertical play, etc.)
- Read and understand written instructions
