This full-service small animal and exotics hospital in Golden, Colorado, is looking to hire a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join a long-standing medical team. This is a hybrid general practice seeing everything from routine preventive care & advanced surgeries to emergencies/critical cases. It's a great position to bridge the gap between a love of daytime general practice and the desire to fully work up and treat a broad range of challenging cases.
The hospital has nine veterinarians with a wide range of experience levels and interests. The average tenure of their DVMs is over a decade, which says more about how the practice actually functions than any mission statement could. Schedules are built by people who practice medicine, not by spreadsheets, and coverage is handled internally when life inevitably interferes.
Case flow is broad by design. You will see standard wellness and sick visits, but you will also manage advanced diagnostics, surgeries, urgent cases, and a meaningful number of emergency presentations during regular hours. Exotics are an established part of the practice, not a novelty.
You can be as involved with those cases as your training and interest allow.
Medicine here is practical and thorough. The hospital maintains AAHA standards because they support consistency and good outcomes, not because they look good on a website. Specialists visit regularly, equipment is current and functional, and support staff are experienced enough to keep doctors focused on doctor work. Clinical decisions are made locally, by the doctors doing the work.
