Job DescriptionWe have a graduate intern researcher position available in the Chemistry and Nanoscience Center to support the fabrication of “tiled” photoelectrode architectures to drive photoelectrochemical reactions. As a graduate intern researcher, you’ll have the opportunity to work within a diverse, dynamic, multidisciplinary team to enhance your professional skills, while also receiving advanced training from a mentor.
We are seeking a motivated intern to join these efforts as part of a Department of Energy (DOE) Energy funded project. The successful candidate will contribute their expertise in physics, materials science and semiconductor device fabrication.
- Fabricating tiled thin-film photoelectrodes.
- Collaborating with external research groups.
- Analyzing materials using techniques such as atom probe tomography.
- Contributing to a peer-reviewed publication based on the research findings.
Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
Undergraduate:
Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a bachelor’s degree program from an accredited institution.
Post Undergraduate:
Earned a bachelor’s degree within the past 12 months. Eligible for an internship period of up to one year.
Graduate:
Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a master’s degree program from an accredited institution.
Post Graduate:
Earned a master’s degree within the past 12 months. Eligible for an internship period of up to one year.
Graduate + PhD:
Completed master’s degree and enrolled as PhD student from an accredited institution.
Required Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program in Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in materials science and materials characterization techniques.
- Experience with thin-film device fabrication and/or characterization.
- Proficiency in coding languages such as Python for data analysis.
- A track record of contributing to peer-reviewed publications.
