Overview
The Quantum Sensing and Subatomic Physics Groups at the Colorado School of Mines are recruiting a post‑doctoral researcher to lead precision measurements of rare isotope decay in advanced sensors. The successful candidate will work with the BeEST and SALER experiments and other experimental programs, driving technical and scientific goals while advising graduate students.
Responsibilities- Technical development of superconducting and/or optomechanical quantum devices for BSM physics searches using rare isotopes.
- Low‑background detection and cryogenic environment development for superconducting devices in the Colorado Underground Research Institute (CURIE).
- Develop and lead new physics research directions within the scope of the BeEST and SALER experiments for neutrino physics and fundamental symmetries.
- Organize and lead local research efforts in Colorado, including mentoring a large team of student and staff researchers.
- Interact with university, industry, and laboratory collaboration partners on technical and scientific aspects of the experiments, including travel and extended on‑location work.
- Publish research results in peer‑reviewed, high‑level scientific or technical journals.
- Present results at national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops.
- Other duties as assigned.
Annual salary range: $65,000 – $70,000.
