Job DescriptionA Postdoctoral researcher will work in NLR’s Chemistry and Nanoscience Center to develop advanced and novel electrode materials for PEM electrolysis and related electrochemical energy conversion devices such as fuel cells, electrochemical hydrogen compression, and electrochemical CO2 reduction. Tasks include electrode synthesis, characterization, device integration, and performance evaluation.
Basic Qualifications- Recent PhD graduate within last three years.
- Must meet educational requirements prior to employment start date.
- Experience in synthesis of PEM electrolysis electrodes.
- Characterization of PEM electrolysis electrodes and cell properties focusing on physical and electrochemical aspects.
- Understanding of electrode morphology and impact of processing/chemical nature on structure, performance, and durability.
- Experience testing PEM electrolyzers.
- PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science & engineering.
- Record of publications/presentations in polymer electrolytes, electrolyzers, and/or fuel cells.
- Strong analytical skills in interpreting and assessing experimental data.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Annual Salary Range (40 hrs per week)Postdoctoral Researcher: $76,600 – $126,400
