Under the direct supervision of the Head Golf Professional, the Golf Shop Retail Coordinator coordinates the selection, purchase, merchandising, inventory control and overall management of the golf shop merchandise operation. This position supports an industry-leading public golf retail operation and works closely with golf professionals by providing support, promoting the Club’s vision, and promoting the game of golf with an emphasis on providing exceptional customer service.

This position helps support revenue goals, inventory accuracy, visual presentation standards, and the overall guest retail experience. May be required to work early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

GOLF PRO SHOP OPERATIONS
  • Responsible for the selection, purchase, receipt, ticketing, display, inventory and accounting procedures for all golf shop merchandise.
  • Works directly with the point-of-sale (POS) system and related reporting tools to help ensure adequate stock levels, accuracy of sales, effective reorder points, minimization of inventory shrinkage and overall inventory control.
  • Works directly with industry sales representatives and vendors regarding product assortment, purchasing, delivery schedules and overall vendor relationships.
  • Under the direct supervision of the Head Golf Professional, coordinates the day-to-day financial administration of golf retail operations and serves as a primary operational contact with the City’s Finance Department. Responsibilities include sales, invoice processing, credit memos, general ledger reconciliation, daily cash reporting, daily, monthly and year-end inventory, and receiving, in accordance with City policies and procedures.
  • Assists the Head Professional with the annual merchandise buying plan, seasonal product assortment decisions, and monitoring financial and operational performance of the golf shop operations and services, including sales trends, inventory performance, loss prevention, and retail presentation standards.
  • May provide custom Club fitting.
  • Can expect to work behind the Golf Shop counter in the off-season (November 15 – March 15).
GENERAL GOLF OPERATIONAL SUPPORT
  • Assists in areas of the operation, including daily golf course activities, operations, established safety protocols, policy, and procedure implementation.
  • Completes supportive tasks, providing answers, insights, instructions, and assistance for services via phone, email, or in person.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to golf course guests, acting as a model for others.
  • Attend applicable meetings, including management and staff meetings, when requested.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists supervisor with the supervision of assigned staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the City's guidelines, policies and applicable laws.
  • Plans, assigns and directs work of assigned staff, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Provides product knowledge, sales support, and retail training to staff to support guest engagement, merchandising consistency, and increased sales performance.
  • May conduct interviews and make recommendations for hiring and staffing needs.
  • May provide input for the evaluation of assigned personnel.
