Personal Banker – Responsibilities
- Ask personalized questions to convert transactions, account maintenance and other routine service requests into cross‑sell conversations that deepen client relationships while meeting customer needs.
- Create sales opportunities by calling leads, visiting businesses to offer workplace banking, and developing referral networks.
- Achieve daily key performance metrics while balancing competing priorities.
- Learn and execute core banking processes such as transactions, cash drawer management, and completing bank documentation in accordance with industry and legal standards.
- Other job duties as assigned.
- Receive extensive training on UMB products and services, the sales process, and offering financial solutions.
- Work closely with UMB leaders, learning from mentorship and expertise.
- Thrives in a high‑energy, sales‑driven team and leverages daily coaching and feedback.
- Uses expert product knowledge and conversation skills to build on customer needs and make a difference in their financial lives.
- Communicates compellingly, projects a positive image, and enjoys solving problems and creating positive outcomes.
- Demonstrates attention to detail when completing documents or explaining features and benefits.
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience in a retail environment engaging with customers and making product recommendations that lead to sales, or relevant experience.
- Reliable transportation and ability to work branch hours, including weekends and some evenings.
- Ability to obtain NMLS registration within 90 days.
Targeted compensation for this opening: $21‑22 per hour.
Compensation range: $38,916 – $57,244.
