Youth Services Specialist Night Shift - Campus at Lookout Mtn YSC

Job Purpose

This position is open to current Colorado residents only. The role is a direct care/essential position providing supervision and support to youth in DYS state‑operated secure facilities during night shifts.

• Provide safety, security, and direct supervision of adjudicated or pre‑adjudicated youth in a secure setting.
• Implement Youth Center behavioral management, coach, and redirect youth.
• Document observations, activities, and incident reports in required logs and databases.
• Adhere to organizational values and CDHS code of conduct, practicing trauma‑responsive care.
• Complete required training:
  Pre‑Service Academy, Youth Center training, and ongoing online courses.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Physical ability to work entire shift on feet with frequent stairs.
• Willingness and ability for physical intervention with assaultive youth.
• Preferred: college education in behavioral health or juvenile justice; experience in secure facilities; experience with psycho educational groups; de‑escalation skills.

• At least 21 years of age; no felony convictions or domestic violence history.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license.
• Pass CBI and FBI background investigations.
• Shift work: evening, night, weekend, holiday; overtime possible.
• Travel to training sites as required.
