NLR's Site Operations Group keeps the laboratory running by providing facility maintenance and support for major mechanical systems. The Facilities Technician keeps campus facilities up and running efficiently, fixing fans, pumps, compressors, refrigeration systems (including charging, evacuating, and repairing), plumbing, and various forms of piping.

• Perform and direct preventive maintenance on facility systems
• Perform installation and repairs on facility systems
• Guide and inspect outside contractors' work
• Establish monthly and annual preventive maintenance schedules
• Perform on‑call projects
• Follow all ES&H policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment

Facilities Tech III / Annual Salary Range: $57,900 - $95,500

Salary based on education, training, experience, travel, market, and internal alignment. Salary history is not used in compensation decisions.

Relevant Associate’s Degree or certification program in construction, mechanical, or electrical technology and four or more years of experience or equivalent. Full knowledge of general maintenance. Basic knowledge of facility systems and mechanical, electrical and pneumatic equipment. Basic troubleshooting skills. Ability to read blueprints. Basic project administration skills. Very good team and interpersonal skills.

Must meet educational requirements prior to employment start date.

• Seven years experience in commercial construction
• Valid Colorado driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Problem‑solving and troubleshooting capability
• Ability to lift over 70 pounds on a routine basis
• Demonstrated ability to work on a team and independently to accomplish tasks
• Strong customer service skills

• Experience installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining plumbing in a commercial construction setting
• Experience installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining heating and cooling hydronic systems
