Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Bicycle Mechanic role located in Louisville, CO. The Bicycle Mechanic will perform day-to-day tasks such as diagnosing mechanical issues, completing bike repairs and tune-ups, assembling new bicycles, packaging bikes for shipping, and performing safety inspections. Responsibilities include adjusting drive trains and brakes, truing wheels, replacing components, and ensuring each bicycle meets performance and safety standards.
The role involves interacting with customers to understand their needs, explaining recommended services, and providing basic maintenance advice. The mechanic will also help maintain a clean, organized workshop, manage work orders, and collaborate with the team to meet service timelines.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in Bicycle Repair and Bike Repair, with hands-on shop experience servicing a variety of Bikes and Bicycle types.
- Clear and professional Communication skills to interact with customers and team members, including the ability to explain mechanical issues in accessible terms.
- Knowledge of standard bicycle components, tools, and maintenance practices; ability to follow safety procedures and quality standards.
- Previous experience in a bike shop or mechanical setting is required; industry certifications (e.g., from UBI or similar programs) are a plus.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift bikes and parts safely, and manage multiple repair tasks with attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and collaborative, with a customer-focused mindset and willingness to learn new techniques and technologies.
Hours
- 20-35 hours per week wth seasonal fluctuations
- Potential to move to full-time as the business grows
