Job Title
The purpose of the work unit is to provide a statewide continuum of services and programs to access, treat, and control youth placed in its care for delinquent behavior.

This position exists to manage the food services program in a juvenile correctional facility and to oversee the youth food service work program. The individual managing this program must supervise staff; provide quality meals to youth and staff; and to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and standards.
Job duties include supervising youth, meal preparation and service, safety and security, sanitation, inventory control, training and meetings, and educating youth. Other duties and special projects as required.

Experience:
High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) ~And~ Four (4) years of professional experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position. Substitutions:
Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis Employment history is calculated on a full-time basis (40/hrs per week). Part-time employment is calculated on a prorated basis to determine qualifications. Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of documented supervisory staff oversight. Examples may include, but not be limited to, staff performance review expectations, staff training, staff development and any relevant supervisory accomplishments achieved during the time period of staff oversight.

Full Background. CDHS employees (all Direct contact with vulnerable persons): CBI name check and fingerprint check, ICON Colorado court database, Medicare fraud database, Reference Checks, Professional License verification (licensure requirements), Drug Screen, PREA (Division of Youth Services), Trails check (direct contact with children), CAPS (direct contact with adults – Mental Health Institutes, Regional Centers, Veterans Community Living Centers) Must be at least 21 years of age.
This position requires State of Colorado residency at the time of application (unless otherwise identified in the posting), and residency within the state throughout the duration of employment in this position. Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Check, Must possess a valid, non-restricted Colorado Driver's License or an non-restricted U.S. Driver's License for positions within 30 miles of the CO state border Out-of-State Driver's License holders must obtain a valid, non-restricted Colorado Driver's License within 30 days of employment start date.
Shift Work –Subject to assigned shifts, may be required to work breakfast, lunch or dinner shifts Use, Handling, or Exposure to hazardous materials. Various cleaning agents are used in the kitchen. Travel - Travel to assigned trainings and/or alternate work sites. May require flexibility to run shifts at another youth services location Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of the DYS Pre-service Training Academy, Field Training Program (FTO) and mandatory annual training in all subject areas.
