Licensed Practical Nurse (S)

The Licensed Practical Nurse assists the Registered Nurse (RN) and Medical Team in meeting each individual resident's practicable level of independence and function through medical and psychosocial intervention, administering medication and evaluating the patient's response to care. Position will provide quality nursing services in the care and treatment of residents, under nursing supervision. The LPN works with the RN in planning, implementing, and evaluating resident care.
This position will take part in the interdisciplinary team process in nursing assessments, assist with the personal care of residents and provide guidance to Health Care Technicians (Certified Nursing Aide I) during day-to-day activities of daily living.
Salary Range: $41,407 - $62,111
A Sign-on bonus of $4,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the Budget Approval.
Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
- Working knowledge of nursing techniques, procedures, theory and practices, sanitation, personal hygiene, basic health and safety practices.
- Working knowledge of proper dosage, effects and contraindications.
- Skill in routine medical procedures to include basic wound care, taking vital signs, checking weights and obtaining specimens.
- Skill in preparing and administering medications, observation and evaluation of individuals' condition(s).
- Possess ability to respond to potentially life-threatening situations in a calm and orderly manner.
Available 8-Hour Shifts
- B-Shift (7:00am-3:30pm)
- C-Shift (3:00pm-11:30pm)
- A-Shift (11:00pm-7:30am)
Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus
To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.
An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:
- The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date)
- The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency
- DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
