American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Goldsboro, NC, requiring at least 2 years of PCU experience and an active NC or compact RN license.
Details- 14-bed adult medical/cardiac unit managing conditions including CHF, post‑cath/pacemaker placement, and COPD
- Patient ratio of 1:6 with approximately 1–2 admissions per day
- Day shift: 7:00am–7:00pm, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
- 13‑week contract located in Goldsboro, NC
- 4 weekend shifts required per 6‑week schedule
- 1 on‑call shift required per pay period
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid compact RN license
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- Current NIHSS certification
- CPI‑A certification required
- Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required
- Minimum education:
Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program (BSN or MSN preferred) - Strong prioritization, interdisciplinary communication, and organizational skills
- Coordinates and delivers patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans
- Conducts discharge planning assessments and anticipates post‑acute patient and family needs
- Participates in unit performance improvement activities and professional development
- Two professional references required for consideration
