American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit night shift position requiring 2+ years of PCU experience and a compact or NC RN license.

• Work in a 28-bed Progressive Care Unit (20 telemetry, 8 step-down beds) within a hospital setting
• Care for an adult cardiac/med-surg patient mix including CAD, CHF, and NSTEMI cases
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5 with 3-4 admissions per day
• Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
• 4-day work week at 12-hour shifts, totaling 48 hours per week
• Weekend requirement of 4 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule
• On-call requirement of 1 shift per pay period
• Holiday coverage required as needed

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• 2+ years of Progressive Care Unit experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• CPI-A certification required
• ACLS certification preferred

• Deliver competent clinical nursing care to patients with complex cardiac and med-surg conditions
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required by the patient care plan
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
• Provide patient and family education tailored to individual learning needs and readiness
• Participate in unit performance improvement activities and professional development opportunities
• Growth opportunities available including PCCN certification, clinical ladder programs, and BSN/MSN support
