Executive Director Of Emergency Nursing
Leads a dynamic team in a fast-paced emergency department, shaping patient care and operational excellence. The role supports hospital leadership and drives quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Serve as key resource to the Chief Nursing Officer and hospital administration, ensuring seamless communication and alignment.
- Oversee the delivery of exceptional patient care, continuously evaluating and enhancing ED practices in line with best industry standards.
- Lead departmental process improvements and participate in organizational initiatives to foster a culture of clinical excellence.
- Manage departmental fiscal responsibilities, including budgeting, expense control, and revenue performance.
- Identify staff development needs, facilitating ongoing education and skill enhancement to ensure clinical competence and compliance.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with staff, physicians, leadership, and the broader healthcare community.
- Drive performance and process improvement initiatives, promoting a high standard of quality and safety across the department.
- NC RN license with BSN from an accredited nursing program
- Minimum 5 years of hospital emergency department experience
- At least 2 years of leadership experience in a hospital setting
- Comprehensive knowledge of emergency nursing practices, procedures, laws, and regulations
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Flexibility to assist with shift coverage, including some off-hours and on-call responsibilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Skills:
- Experience with organizational process improvement projects and fiscal management
- Proven ability to develop and execute staff education and competency programs
- Demonstrated success in building interdisciplinary relationships and fostering team collaboration
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher
- 5+ years of hospital experience with a focus on emergency services
- Leadership experience of 2+ years in a comparable role
