DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and active NC or compact RN licensure.
Details- Work in a 52-bed Emergency Department plus a 4-bed Behavioral Health Unit providing 24/7 all-ages emergency care
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:2 with approximately 196 admissions per day
- Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am, 4 days per week, 12-hour shifts, 48 hours per week
- On-call required if needed, approximately 1 shift per pay period
- Weekend requirement of 4 shifts within a 6-week period
- Holiday coverage required if needed
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact license
- Minimum of 2 years Emergency Department nursing experience required
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
- ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI-B certifications required
- Strong skills in interdisciplinary collaboration, complex problem-solving, task prioritization, and safety management
- Deliver patient-centered nursing care using the nursing process in a hospital ED setting
- Perform bedside point-of-care testing and manage complex patient care needs across all age groups
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Participate in discharge planning, patient/family education, and continuity of care efforts
- Engage in ongoing professional development, unit performance improvement, and safety initiatives
- Promote a safe, clean, and cost-effective care environment
- Opportunities for growth into leadership, specialty training, or education roles
