DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring NC or compact RN licensure and prior PCU experience.
Details- 28-bed progressive care unit with 20 telemetry and 8 step-down beds
- Adult cardiac and med-surg patient mix including CAD, CHF, and NSTEMI cases
- Patient ratio of 1:4-5 with 3-4 admissions per day
- Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
- 4 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule
- On-call requirement of 1 shift per pay period
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
- NIHSS and CPI-A certifications required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- 2+ years of progressive care unit experience required
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required; BSN or MSN preferred
- Deliver competent clinical nursing care in a fast-paced hospital setting utilizing the nursing process
- Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required for patient care plans
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and support discharge planning
- Assess patient and family learning needs and provide relevant patient education
- Fast-paced environment well-suited for strong critical thinkers
- Growth opportunities available including PCCN certification, clinical ladder, and BSN/MSN support
