American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

• Work in a 52-bed Emergency Department plus 4-bed Behavioral Health Unit, providing 24/7 all-ages emergency care
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:2 with approximately 196 admits per day
• Night shift schedule, 7:00pm - 7:00am, 4 days per week, 12-hour shifts
• Standby on-call requirement
• Holiday coverage required as needed

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
• 2+ years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI-B certifications required
• Performs bedside point-of-care testing as part of patient care

• Coordinates and delivers patient care using the nursing process under supervision of Nurse Manager/Director
• Provides care for patients with complex physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Participates in discharge planning and patient/family education
• Promotes a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
• Engages in unit performance improvement and professional growth activities
