Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring one year of nursing experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
• ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI-A certifications required
• Minimum one year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
• BSN or MSN preferred

• 14-bed adult medical/cardiac unit treating CHF, post-cath/pacemaker, and COPD patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6 with 1-2 admissions per day
• Night shift schedule, 7:00pm - 7:00am
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• On-call requirement of 1 standby shift per 2 weeks
• Weekend coverage of up to 4 shifts if needed
• Deliver competent clinical nursing care to patients with complex medical and cardiac conditions
• Coordinate patient care using the nursing process while reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director
• Participate in patient education, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary care coordination
• Perform bedside point of care testing as part of the patient care plan
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and address cultural and ethnic considerations in care planning
