American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a 6-bed unit requiring NC or compact RN licensure and the ability to circulate for C-sections and triage OB patients.
Details- Hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit with 6 beds and one C-section OR
- Unit averages 100 deliveries monthly, working alongside OBGYNs and midwives
- Manage laboring patients, circulate and assist in C-sections, and recover both labor and surgical patients
- Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
- 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Epic EMR experience required
- Active RN license (NC or compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and NIHSS
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
- 5 years of L&D experience highly preferred
- Able to circulate for C-sections
- Able to triage for OB patients
- ADN, ASN, or Nursing Diploma required; BSN or MSN preferred
- Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital labor and delivery setting
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director
- Perform bedside point of care testing as required for the patient care plan
- Participate in patient/family education, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary care coordination
- Engage in unit performance improvement activities and effective communication with the care team
