American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care Unit RN for a night shift role requiring 2+ years of PCU experience and NIHSS certification.

• 28-bed Progressive Care Unit (20 tele, 8 step-down) within a hospital setting
• Adult cardiac/med-surg patient mix including CAD, CHF, and NSTEMI cases
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5 with 3-4 admissions per day
• Night shift schedule, 7:00pm-7:00am, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• On-call required for 1 shift per pay period
• Weekend requirement of 4 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Performs bedside point of care testing as part of patient care

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
• BSN or MSN preferred
• CPI-A certification required
• ACLS certification preferred

• Delivers clinical nursing care using the nursing process in a fast-paced PCU environment suited for critical thinkers
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Participates in discharge planning and identifies patients at high risk for complex discharge needs
• Engages in performance improvement activities and unit goal development
• Utilizes multiple communication systems to coordinate and convey care planning
• Opportunities for professional growth including PCCN certification, clinical ladder, and BSN/MSN support
