Overview
TITLE: Heat Shop Service Mechanic I
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma. Experience in the Installation, maintenance, and repair of ventilation, low-pressure steam/hot water pressure vessels, and environmental control systems is preferred.
RequirementsREQUIREMENTS: Must be able to bend, push, pull, and lift at least 50 pounds. Must be able to climb ladders and do physical labor for periods of time. Must have a current, valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Reports ToREPORTS TO: Heat Shop Crew Leader
Job GoalJOB GOAL: An employee in this class performs the full range of duties associated with the installation, maintenance, and repair of ventilation, pressure vessel, and environmental control systems. A larger, costlier, exceptional, or more complex job may be reviewed by a technical supervisor to determine appropriate procedures and to ensure that proper work methods are being followed. Employees receive work orders indicating the nature of the work to be done.
They are expected to determine the materials, tools, and repair procedures needed. Errors may be quickly revealed or may only be located after involvement of a supervisor, and may be costly to fix. Limited supervision is given to this employee.
Special Requirements: Requires current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III, or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations part 82, subpart
F. Additional certifications and or Credentials as required by the Director of Maintenance.
Terms of Employment: 12-month work year/At Will Employee/FLSA Non-Exempt
Starting Salary and/or GradeStarting Salary and/or Grade: Grade 65: $38,089.44 - $57,457.80
