Methodist Home for Children is seeking a Program Specialist to lead and support our unique Farm Transitional Living Program

What You’ll DoCase Management & Youth Development
  • Coordinate child and family team meetings and individualized service plans

  • Support youth in education, vocational training, and employment opportunities

  • Develop and monitor transition and aftercare plans (up to 6 months post-placement)

  • Connect youth to mentors, apprenticeships, and community resources

  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and case records

Program & Staff Leadership
  • Provide on‑site supervision of residential staff and program operations

  • Oversee budgets, scheduling, property management, and daily operations

  • Ensure delivery of direct treatment services consistent with agency standards

  • Provide 24‑hour on‑call/back‑up support as needed

  • Foster a structured, family‑style home environment

Community & Operational Engagement
  • Build relationships with families, service providers, volunteers, and neighbors

  • Transport youth to appointments, school, court, and community activities

  • Maintain compliance with contractual and accreditation standards

  • Participate in quality improvement and staff development initiatives

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related human services field (required)

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with teens; residential or at-risk youth experience preferred

  • Supervisory or program leadership experience

  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on‑call coverage

Work Environment

This is a hands‑on leadership role in a dynamic residential and farm setting. You must be comfortable with:

  • Active supervision of youth
  • Outdoor and vocational activities
  • Property oversight and daily operations
