Job Summary:
The Windows, Trim & Doors Assistant supports the installation, assembly, handling, and transportation of windows, doors, trim, and other building materials. This role assists with loading and unloading materials, preparing job sites, operating forklifts, maintaining inventory, and ensuring projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. The ideal candidate has experience in construction, manufacturing, or warehouse operations and is comfortable performing physically demanding work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the installation of windows, doors, trim, molding, and related building materials.
- Load, unload, stage, and transport materials using a forklift and other material handling equipment.
- Pull, organize, and prepare materials for customer orders and installation crews.
- Measure and verify materials to ensure accuracy before installation or delivery.
- Assist with cutting, fitting, and assembling trim and finish materials.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Inspect products for damage or defects before installation or shipment.
- Maintain organized warehouse and work areas.
- Receive incoming shipments and stock inventory.
- Assist with inventory counts and material tracking.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Drivers License
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in construction, carpentry, building materials, warehouse, or manufacturing environments. Forklift certification or previous forklift operating experience preferred. Experience handling windows, doors, trim, lumber, or other construction materials. Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment. Experience using hand tools and power tools. Basic knowledge of carpentry, measuring, and material installation.
