Staff Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Goleta, CA. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys general ledger work, month-end close, reconciliations, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams.

The Staff Accountant will support core corporate accounting functions while gaining broad exposure to financial operations, process improvement, and audit support. • Prepare journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Manage corporate credit card accounting, reconciliations, documentation, and related expense support.
• Assist with budget-to-actual reporting, variance analysis, and financial reporting activities.
• Support Accounts Payable processes, including invoice review, coding, vendor reconciliations, and payment processing.
• Assist with Accounts Receivable functions, including invoicing, payment posting, account maintenance, and customer account support.
• Support audits, special accounting projects, and process improvement initiatives that increase accuracy and operational efficiency.

• Salary range: $70,000 to $85,000 per year.

• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Prepare and maintain general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and schedules.
• Assist with financial reporting, variance analysis, and audit support.
• Provide cross-functional accounting support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of accounting experience preferred for this Staff Accountant level role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, corporate accounting, and general ledger functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using ERP or accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and deadlines.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.

• Net Suite experience.
• Experience in a technology, manufacturing, or high-growth environment.
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing priorities, and take on expanded responsibilities.
• Interest in process improvement, automation, and accounting efficiency initiatives.
