Senior Manufacturing Quality Engineer — Aerospace / Space Hardware (Contract-to-Hire)
Location:
Goleta, CA (Onsite)
Rate:
Up to $65/hr
6-month Contract-to-Hire
US Citizen or US Person required (ITAR)
Join a leading aerospace engineering team developing advanced satellite mechanisms, deployable structures, and spaceflight hardware. This role focuses on ensuring product quality across complex aerospace programs through strong program quality leadership and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead program quality assurance for aerospace hardware and manufacturing programs
- Develop and implement quality plans aligned with AS9100 and ISO
9001 standards - Perform root cause analysis (RCA), corrective action (CAPA), and failure investigations
- Monitor quality metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Support internal/external audits and regulatory compliance activities
- Interface with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customers
- 7+ years Quality Engineering experience
- Aerospace, space, satellite, or high-reliability manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO
9001, quality systems, and auditing - Experience with RCA tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA, etc.)
- Strong cross-functional communication skills
- CQE or similar certification
- Advanced degree
- Experience with aerospace assemblies or spaceflight hardware
