Responsibilities- Lead multi-disciplinary quantum computing projects from concept to data collection and analysis, including design, fabrication, test and deployment of control electronics.
- Define project requirements, assess technical feasibility, plan schedules, and anticipate engineering issues.
- Orchestrate execution, drive timelines and manage dependencies across multiple technical teams.
- Communicate with stakeholders and track progress; explain analyses and recommendations to executives and discuss technical trade-offs with engineers.
- Build trusted relationships with program stakeholders, manage expectations, and provide insights to enable informed decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in project/program management.
- 4 years of experience in systems engineering, hardware development, semiconductor device design and fabrication, or quantum computing.
- Experience in vendor/contract manufacturing management.
- Advanced degree in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field.
- Experience working with emerging technology.
- Experience managing dependencies and cross-functional interfaces, anticipate issues and propose solutions, and develop or improve tools or processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company.
You re equally comfortable explaining your team s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
As a Technical Program Manager for the Quantum AI team, you will usher multi-disciplinary quantum computing projects through the entire project life-cycle from initial concept to data collection and analysis, including design, fabrication, test and deployment of control electronics. You will leverage a technical background to define project requirements, assess technical feasibility, plan project schedules and anticipate engineering issues. You will serve as the orchestrator of the execution process, driving timelines and managing dependencies across multiple technical teams.
You will be proactive in communicating with stakeholders and tracking progress. The full potential of quantum computing will be unlocked with a large-scale computer capable of complex, error-corrected computations. Google Quantum AI s mission is to build this computer and unlock solutions to classically intractable problems. Our roadmap is focused on advancing the capabilities of quantum computing and enabling meaningful applications.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
