Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience in a calibration laboratory or metrology environment (aerospace, defense, or high‑tech manufacturing preferred).
- Knowledge of laboratory safety requirements, general laboratory quality requirements and industry practices pertaining to calibration and repair of test and measuring equipment.
- Experience with laboratory safety and quality practices.
You will be the Metrologist for the Santa Barbara Metrology team. Our team is responsible for advancing precision measurement capabilities and ensuring the reliability of calibration systems across diverse applications.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Metrologist you will be responsible for supporting the calibration process in cleanroom environments, collaborating with engineering and production teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To- Perform hands‑on calibration of electronic, electromechanical, and optical instruments using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Develop and validate calibration methods rooted in measurement science principles.
- Document procedures, results, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Assist teams with new asset approvals.
- Coordinate outsourced calibrations.
