Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to develop and implement quality engineering and customer quality flow‑down requirements throughout proposal and program life cycle with the Focal Planes Operations group.
What You Will Do- Create or tailor existing quality planning to administer customer and internal quality requirements.
- Implement quality engineering responsibilities as a member of a program Integrated Product Team (IPT).
- Ensure programmatic and technical risks are identified, contained, and managed throughout each phase of business pursuit and program implementation.
- Ensure quality engineering engagement in program development, design, test requirements and verification, including the transition of design to production.
- Lead multi‑functional teams in problem resolution and continuous improvement activities with an emphasis on 8D, Six Sigma, Lean Practices and other critical‑thinking improvement methods and resources.
- Manage the completion of Internal First Article Inspections (FAIs).
- Guide business and program performance utilizing predictive and proactive measures and metrics.
- Maintain positive relationships with program administration, cross‑functional program stakeholders, suppliers, customers, and government representatives.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and at least five (5) years of experience in Quality, Engineering or Operations.
- Experience applying and adhering to Quality Management Systems ISO 9001 and AS9100.
- Knowledge of Industry and Government Quality Requirements and Standards.
- Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) methodology, systems, and resources.
- Experience in predictive and proactive measures and metrics assessments and actions to improve performance or mitigate problems.
- U.S. citizenship required and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance (DoD Confidential or higher).
- Previous experience in business strategic planning and proposals, engineering development, material and service acquisition, production, test, product acceptance and post‑delivery support.
- Experience in the infrared industry, semiconductor processing or DoD industry.
- Past or present membership or chair of Material and Failure non‑conformance review boards (MRB/FRB).
- Experience in risk & opportunity management, assessment, mitigation, and capture.
- American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer or Six Sigma Certification.
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVMS) and Cost Account Management (CAM) including Bases of Estimation (BOE).
- Experience with statistical and metrics software (e.g., Tableau, Minitab).
- Experience with factory systems and software (e.g., SAP, Windchill).
- Experience with manufacturing processes and clean rooms.
- Experience leading, mentoring and collaborating with program team members to develop practical solutions to complex problems.
- Strong written and verbal presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
