Position
Principal Test Engineer – located in Goleta, CA, onsite at Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) Systems Integration and Test Department. Requires U.S. citizenship and a DoD Secret clearance. The role focuses on airborne electro‑optical and infrared surveillance and targeting sensor systems.
What Will You Do- Lead integration, verification and validation (IV&V), design verification testing (DVT), and production testing for EO/IR focal plane array sensor systems.
- Collaborate with Program Chief Engineer and Lead Systems Engineer on product and subsystem requirements, IV&V plans, and production test design.
- Drive development and execution of test architecture from bid through production, owning the test system design.
- Lead and procure test activities supporting the test factory.
- Partner with operations and manufacturing teams to enable efficient product flow, provide metrics, minimize cycle time, and maximize yield.
- Perform data analysis and modeling of test and product data.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with airborne and/or space EO/IR system testing.
- Experience in integration verification, validation testing, and/or product transition to production.
- Experience performing test methodology within an EO/IR system.
- Proficiency in LABVIEW and/or MATLAB programming.
- Test methodology experience within EO/IR focal plane array sensor systems or related development and production programs.
- Experience with requirements test development, test analysis, derivations, verification, and validation.
- Experience developing/executing factory test plans, procedures, and equipment for EO/IR sensor systems and ROICs.
- Analytical skills to relate observed phenomena to first principles.
- Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and presentation—across Test Management, IPT leaders, engineering teams, program managers, and customers.
- Prior experience with ROIC wafer probing, fabrication, integration, verification, and validation of complex EO/IR systems.
- Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment: power supplies, oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters.
- Salary range: $118,300 – $224,900.
