Job SummaryParticipate with other systems engineers in developing state-of-the-art thermal-imaging products. Our team has primary responsibility for leading multidisciplinary teams, defining requirements, completing system analysis, executing system-level trade studies, defining system architecture, and performing integration, characterization, verification & documentation activities. The ideal candidate will be capable of assisting a senior‑level systems engineer in all these activities, particularly the integration, characterization, verification, and documentation aspects.
Simultaneously, the junior‑level systems engineer must demonstrate a drive & ability to continuously improve such that she/he develops the skillset required to eventually lead development projects.
- Execute test plans and data‑collection routines. Translate high‑level test objectives into detailed procedures. When feasible and practical, generate automated scripts for data collection (ideally in Python).
- Analyze collected data and generate clear, succinct reports. Flag unexpected results and investigate root cause.
- Actively participate in weekly team meetings. Generate weekly status reports. Coordinate with other team members for priorities, alignment, and understanding.
- Learn and apply the fundamentals of thermal‑imaging technology via mentoring, on‑the‑job exploration, and participation in team discussions.
- BS or higher in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or other related technical field.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and report complex data is a key qualification. Ability to generate automated data‑collection scripts in Python is highly desired.
- Strong initiative. Even though you will be working in a collaborative environment with highly skilled teammates, you will be expected to manage your assigned tasks without undue oversight.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including active listening, is essential to this role.
- Previous experience with infrared imaging is not required, but ability to learn on the job is essential. Familiarity with optics, sensors, electronics, mechanical design, software development, and/or advanced signal processing will provide a head start to the knowledge ultimately needed to lead development of future products.
- Must be either a US Citizen or PERM Resident.
- Previous Systems Engineering experience is advantageous, particularly prior participation in product development.
- Prior direct experience with system & software testing is highly beneficial but not essential.
$90,800.00-$
The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
