Senior Electronics Engineer
Location:
Goleta, CA (Onsite). Security Clearance: U.S. Citizen required; active DoD Secret clearance required. Salary range: $95,500 - $181,700.
- Design electronic circuits and subsystems for defense applications, including advanced digital interface design, FPGA‑based high‑speed circuits, DAC/ADC interfaces, DDR3/4/5, Ethernet copper and optical interfaces.
- Develop low‑ and medium‑power bias power conversion circuitry; support program‑level design and REA oversight; participate in RVS program‑level bidding and proposal development.
- Create schematics, component selection, and specification generation; use ECAD tools for circuit card layout and verify layout design.
- Conduct worst‑case circuit analysis and derating, design obsolescence evaluation, and failure investigations.
- Support on‑site laboratory product development, manufacturing support, and system integration test; generate acceptance test procedures.
- Provide supplier support, including high‑speed interface circuit and component specification control drawings, review of supplier manufacturing and design processes, and qualification support.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with at least 5 years related experience, or an advanced degree with 3 years experience.
- Experience leading program development for commercial, defense and/or space industries, completing designs on schedule and within budget.
- Proficiency in digital and interface circuit design for FPGA‑based and mixed‑signal applications; use timing analysis methods.
- Power conversion design experience for airborne/space applications; DCDC, ACDC up to 100W.
- Experience with SPICE, schematic/layout tools, Matlab, ADS, and electronic product testing devices (power supplies, generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers).
- Signal Integrity and Power Integrity (SIPI) analysis using tools such as Hyper Lynx, SiMetrix, LTSpice.
- Experience in all phases of the engineering lifecycle.
- Digital FPGA‑based circuit design (AMD, Intel, Micro Chip, Lattice) and related ADCs/DACs.
- Electrical design and analysis with Altium, Mentor Graphics XPedition, Hyper Lynx/Hyperlynx PI, SiMetrix, LTSpice.
- Design of CCAs with power conversion integrated circuits.
- Demonstrated success in fast‑paced, dynamic product development environments.
- Proficiency with SIPI analysis.
