Lead Focal Plane Engineering Support Technician

Location

Goleta, CA – 6825 Cortona Dr, Bldg B01

• Managing process development and improvement projects, including novel processing techniques, yield increase, throughput, and safety improvements.
• Reviewing material in WIP, certifying operators, dispositioning out‑of‑flow material, and hands‑on processing of novel detector designs.
• Providing process support for flip‑chip bonding, diamond point turning, precision alignment, or optical coatings.
• Developing requirements and qualification plans for new equipment procurements.
• Operating in a cleanroom environment (Class 100) with full coverall garments.
• Working 1st shift in an onsite position.

• AA/AS degree (or equivalent 2‑year post‑high‑school training) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
• Experience working in a laboratory environment and with semiconductor hardware.
• Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings or schematics.
• Knowledge of focal‑plane array assembly and infrared detector technology.
• Equipment and controls system experience.
• Collaboration with higher‑level support staff and engineering on test procedures, results, and related technical presentations.
• U.S. citizenship required and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

• Salary range: $66,000 to $125,400 USD.
